Guilt and regrets can distance us from God. We don't feel like we deserve the help that others might be worthy of. This message looks at a person who was gripped by those regrets but found mercy in Jesus and learned something about the nature of true faith.
Luke 7:1-10

Moses has been called by God and commissioned to deliver God’s people, but he immediately thinks of all the reasons why he’s not up for the task. The way that God reassures him shows how He might be seeking to work in our own lives when we find ourselves resisting a step God is calling us to make.
Exodus 4:1-17

In this passage, the king of Israel is powerless and the Syrian general is helpless. Ironically, the most powerful person is a Jewish slave girl. Although she’s been kidnapped, she knows the power of God and so lives with freedom and confidence.

We need strength and love to cope with life, but often we look for it in the wrong places. The good news of Christmas is that God’s might is revealed in the tenderness of a shepherd who gently leads His sheep.
