When life is a battle, you want to know that God is on your side. The promise that God is with His people brought confidence and security to the people of God in Scripture and should do the same to us today. This message looks at that promise and how we can apply it in our lives.
Psalm 46:1-11
In this passage, the king of Israel is powerless and the Syrian general is helpless. Ironically, the most powerful person is a Jewish slave girl. Although she’s been kidnapped, she knows the power of God and so lives with freedom and confidence.
We need strength and love to cope with life, but often we look for it in the wrong places. The good news of Christmas is that God’s might is revealed in the tenderness of a shepherd who gently leads His sheep.
