Habakkuk 1:2-17
Today, people are quick to take each other to court and fight to get what they think they’re owed. Often, there’s much injustice done in the attempt to get justice. How should a Christian deal with their grievances? What should our attitude be toward lawsuits? This message looks at how Jesus’ followers can follow Jesus’ ways when they are wronged by fellow believers.
On one hand, we complain when people do terrible things and God ‘doesn’t do anything about it.’ On the other hand, we struggle with the idea of a God who judges the world. The vision of the 7 bowls helps makes sense of God’s judgment and how we should live in light of it.
People who are skilled in organization and administration are critical to the blessing and effectiveness of the church. But they’re often misunderstood and face unique temptations. This message looks at what we can learn by understanding Solomon’s skills as a leader and the blessings and inclinations that accompanied them.
When confronted with the evil and injustice in our world, we’re often caught off guard. We wonder why God doesn’t do something about it. Meanwhile, we gravitate toward passive indifference or vengeful aggression, and we can find our own character is corrupted in the process. This message looks at how to deal with the world’s injustice.
When we look at the injustice of human trafficking, the #MeToo movement, racial prejudice and mass shootings, it feels like our world’s out of control. We wonder where God is. And if He’s seeing what we’re seeing, why isn’t He doing anything about it? Today’s passage looks at God’s plan to bring justice to our world.
